There's a permanent crosshair on-screen for almost all weapons. Hitting RMB switches to first person aiming for the Assault Rifles, Sniper Rifles, M60 and Rocket Launcher. You can only aim in first person with heavy guns (m60, m4, rpg, etc.). If you want to aim at the GTA SA style, download the Classic axis mod.
On Ps2 you hold the aim button, then click the left stick to trigger the manual aiming. It's very slow, so shooting at vehicles is difficult. You can't move, because you're aiming with the same stick you use to move with. And you're very limited to how high and low you can aim.
The best way to avoid this is to do the following: - Play at a 4:3 resolution. - Disable widescreen. - Keep the sensitivity at the default (if this is too fast/slow, adjust the Windows sensitivity to fix it whenever you want to play) I think Silent Patch also fixes this, but it's best to not install mods.
